We are seeking a dynamic and passionate clinician or Multisystemic Therapy (MST) Practitioner to join our MST team in the South.


You don't need to be a current MST Practitioner to apply We will provide ongoing training and intensive supervision to help upskill you to practice from this highly evidence-based framework.

In fact, ongoing learning and development are key attributes of what makes a great MST Practitioner.


With a motto of "whatever it takes", MST is an innovative, evidence-based program that empowers young people involved in offending and other antisocial behaviour and their families to build the skills to achieve positive, long-term changes and improved life outcomes.


An MST Practitioner is driven, enthusiastic, knowledgeable and has the skills to deliver evidence-based treatment to young people with complex presentations and their families.

With ongoing access to training and support, and weekly supervision as a core aspect of MST, working in a small team you will share the Child and Adolescent Mental Health Service's vision of providing quality, accessible, consumer-centred mental health care to some of Tasmania' s most vulnerable young people.


Your Role:

  • Deliver highly specialised clinical interventions to improve young people's lives, including remaining at home and in the community by addressing the correlates of behaviour.
  • Work intensively with a small caseload of young people with complex needs, working primarily to empower their families and caregivers.
  • Adhere to the MST model, establishing strong engagement with families and other key supports in the family, school, and community.
  • Conduct assessments with young people and the systems that impact them, including family, peers, school, and community, to identify risks and strengths and develop therapeutic interventions.
