This is an excellent opportunity to continue the development of this perinatal service in one of Australia's finest hospitals. The mother and baby unit has 8 inpatient beds and has a talented multidisciplinary team who work collaboratively with colleagues in other mental health services, maternity services and other stakeholders. The service offers advice, assessment and treatment for all perinatal patients with severe and complex mental health conditions. They also provide care for referrals from rural and regional Western Australia. A key part of the role will be for the consultant to generate, develop and nurture relationships with local mother and baby units, paediatrics and other specialist colleagues. This specific job requires a perinatal psychiatrist with experience and interests in addictions.

Remuneration of up to $477k plus additional add ons, future loadings, includes:

*An annual professional development allowance of $31k per annum.

*Tax free benefits.

*3 weeks professional development leave.

*40hr week.

In addition, there are opportunities for teaching and training in addition to research.

Selection criteria

*FRANZCP or equivalent specialist training gained in either NZ, UK, Ireland, USA, Canada, South Africa. If you have been trained in Sri Lanka your application only be considered if you have completed your 2 yr international placement requirement in Australia or New Zealand

*If trained outside of Australia you must have completed a 6 month training post in child and adolescent psychiatry and have at least 2.5yrs FTE of consultant work experience at time of reading.

*Experience in perinatal psychiatry.

*First class communication skills with demonstrated ability to lead and help your MDTs.

*Demonstrated experience in teaching and supervising medical staff.
