Disability and Mental Health Support Worker

Support workers will deliver a variety of support programs to people with a disability and their families which assist them in achieving their goals.
- The Role_
Duties include but are not limited to:
- Domestic Assistance; cooking and meal preparations, cleaning and companionship
- Social Support; transporting to appointments, shopping or community outings
- Personal Care; showering, toileting and overall personal hygiene maintenance
Daily Tasks:
- Administer or assist participants with medications in accordance with their medication chart and care plan.
- Support participants to develop and maintain independence and safety in personal care, and health and hygiene such as eating, dressing, toileting, and showering
- Developing and implementing programs with the participant to grow their living skills and abilities so they are more able to make decisions affecting their lives, live as independently as possible and participate in the community
- Support our participants with skill sets to improve living within the community.
- Utilise internal personal support plans for participants who demonstrate challenging behaviors and/or with high physical support needs and complex mental health issues.
- All tasks to be completed in the participants' residence.
Requirements:
- A current Australian Driver's Licence and vehicle with comprehensive car insurance
- Have or be willing to obtain a valid First Aid Certificate, CPR Certificate, Working with Children's Check and National Police Check/ Worker Screening Check
- Have a Cert III in Disability, Aged Care or other equivalent, or be willing to obtain
- Have excellent communication skills, be able to think on your feet and a compassionate personality
- Preferably working under ABN
- Completed or willing to obtain an NDIS orientation certificate
- Completed or willing to obtain the NDIS Covid19 course
- Medication certificate
