About the role


TAFE NSW has an exciting casual opportunity for motivated individuals with current experience in Animal Care to collaborate with our experienced Teachers and Head Teachers to carry out student assessments as a casual Assessor, located at Richmond Campus.

Your role will include assessment strategy implementation, independent assessments, and identifying gaps that may require further teacher support.

A Day in the Life
This role helps to evaluate students' knowledge and understanding of the Animal Care section within the Western Sydney Region. You will create and carry out assessment tasks, being motivated in assisting students to achieve their highest potential.

  • Develop and conduct assessments, resit assessments
  • Provide feedback and support to students
  • Motive and encourage students to complete tasks, written assessments and activities
  • Administrative duties relating to students' assessments and records

To be successful in the role you must have:

  • TAE10 Assessor Skill Set or equivalent.
  • Certificate in one of the following: Certificate II or III in Animal Care, Certificate III in Captive Animals, Certificate IV in Vet Nursing or Certificate IV in Farriery or equivalent
  • Have a minimum of 2 years experience in Animal Care.
  • Commitment to develop VET knowledge and skills as well as maintain industry currency and assessor competence.
  • Ability to meet all the Essential Requirements as outlined in the position description.
