This is a permanent full-time position commencing Term 3, 2024

WA College of Agriculture – Denmark (WACOA - Denmark) is looking for a skilled First Cook to join their team and handle high-volume meal preparation.

To excel in this role, the First Cook should thrive in a team setting, able to prepare a large number of meals daily (over 500) and handle event catering. The Level 3 Cook will oversee kitchen operations in the Chef's absence. Candidates with commercial cookery experience or qualifications will be prioritized.

WACOA – Denmark is a 560-hectare farm and educational facility catering to Year 10 to 12 students, providing diverse studies with an agricultural focus. The college hosts both residential and day students, offering transportation services to and from Albany. The farm's location enhances its educational offerings and strengthens community partnerships.

This recruitment aims to fill the current vacancy, with potential for consideration for similar roles within the school for up to 12 months. Applicants should meet the outlined selection criteria, including:

  • Experience in commercial cooking for large groups
  • Supervisory skills in a catering environment
  • Procurement experience for efficient kitchen operations
  • Strong organizational and communication skills

Applications will be evaluated based on the selection criteria mentioned. Additionally, the school's operational requirements will be considered. Prospective candidates are encouraged to review all provided information before applying.
