About the role

  • A fantastic opportunity has arisen for a skilled Financial Analyst
  • JV Services to join the Santos team. Based at our global headquarters in Adelaide, this position reports to the Financial Controller JV Services and will be responsible for delivering high quality and efficient transactional accounting and reporting services to our key stakeholders throughout the Business, including the Asset Decision Support Teams, Functional Support, Group Finance, Group Taxation, Treasury, Production Allocation & Commercial.

Key accountabilities include:

  • Demonstrate a change and performance mindset and participate to achieve desired culture outcomes.
  • Understand team purpose and role accountabilities that need to be delivered.
  • Contribute to delivering on cost reduction efficiencies and value creation strategies as directed.
  • Effective and timely collaboration with internal and external stakeholders as required.
On behalf of our key stakeholders this role will be accountable for;

  • Preparation of monthly Joint Venture expenditure statements and cash call requests.
  • Preparing and posting actual and accrual journals.
  • Inputting operated and nonoperated Joint Venture accounting and providing reports
  • Efficient generation and input of Sales Invoices
  • Calculation, lodgement and payment of monthly and quarterly Overriding Royalties (ORR), Product Royalties and Primary Resource Rent Tax (PRRT)
  • Preparation of monthly and quarterly balance sheet reconciliations
  • Assembling audit data as required.
  • Participate in process improvement projects across Finance
  • Additional activities as required by the Financial Controller
  • Compliance with the Santos Management System (SMS).
  • Compliance with the Santos Delegation of Authority (DOA).
  • Compliance with the Santos Corporate Governance and Safety requirements.

About you

  • Holding a Degree in Accounting, Commerce, or similar Tertiary qualification, you will be a qualified Accountant (ICAA, CPA or equivalent) with significant post qualification, professional working experience. Furthermore, it is essential that you possess strong problem solving and analytical skills along with demonstrable skills at an advanced level with Microsoft Excel.
  • In addition, you will be able to demonstrate experience in building and managing internal relationships, as well as collaborating with others to meet common goals and objectives. Excellent communication skills are therefore a must, as is the ability to work cross functionally managing a variety of different stakeholder needs. Ideally, you will also possess a working knowledge of SAP Finance systems.
