What you'll be doing

You will complete a Certificate III Bricklaying/Blocklaying qualification over 48 months through a combination of formal training with a Registered Training Organisation (RTO) and practical on-the-job experience with Zeal Futures with Host Employer, BlueScope.

This position is a targeted role for female applicants to apply.
Throughout your formal training and practical experience in the workplace, you will have the opportunity to:

• Reline ladles for iron and steel making vessels using a combination of bricklaying and other refractory installation techniques
• Carry out refractory installation and repairs of Blast Furnace troughs
• Spray refractory materials using gunning techniques
• Follow Standard Procedures to ensure that safety and quality specifications are met
• Learn to operate forklifts and overhead cranes using a combination of in house and external training
