The Opportunity


The Aboriginal Cultural Officer will engage and collaboration on Transgrid's Reconciliation Action Plan (RAP) and ensure the RAP aligns to the rights and interests of Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander peoples across all lines of our business and co-design and implement community and stakeholder engagement strategies to support the RAP for projects delivered by Transgrid.


These strategies will involve relationship brokering with stakeholders including First Nations Elders, Traditional Owners and communities, contractors; and to support this engagement in collaboration with project teams.


The role will effectively engage with various stakeholders both internal and external to work closely with project staff to engage Aboriginal Communities on issues, policy and planning development to ensure outcomes are identified and strategies are developed to achieve sustainable outcomes in line with Transgrid's RAP priorities and Closing the Gap Targets.


Skills & Experience

What we expect from you:

  • Develop and maintain communication networks with Aboriginal communities and stakeholders to ensure delivery of project objectives and milestones
  • Provide and contribute to advice, analysis and development of strategies that support pathways for Aboriginal employees through Transgrid's RAP.
  • Proven ability to develop and sustain collaborative activities with all community stakeholders.
  • Proven track record of planning and effectively delivering innovative projects and initiatives.
  • Excellent communication skills, including the ability to prepare and present verbal and written reports.
  • Demonstrated ability to manage competing priorities while maintaining high quality outcomes.
