What are we seeking?

We have an excellent opportunity for a Senior Legal Assistant to join our Medical Law team in Brisbane on a full-time basis. In this role, you will be responsible for providing support to our busy team, with continuous training and development. Your daily responsibilities will include:

  • Providing exceptional care and support to our clients professionally
  • Developing strong relationships with our clients, internal and external partners
  • Assisting the team with general file management and administration
  • Arranging appointments for our lawyers, medico-legal appointments for our clients, conferences, and mediations
  • Engaging with clients, insurers, and other professionals both verbally and in writing
  • Drafting legal correspondence and compiling court documents
  • Preparing matters for conferences and hearings
  • Training and guiding junior staff members

What qualifications do you need?

We are looking for an experienced Senior Legal Assistant with a drive for social justice and achieving positive results for clients. The following background and abilities will help you excel in this role:

  • An intrinsic desire to assist people and a high level of empathy
  • Extensive experience in communication and customer service
  • Strong written and drafting skills
  • Understanding the importance of attention to detail and time management
  • Demonstrated organizational skills and the capacity to handle multiple tasks
  • Capability to work independently and collaboratively
  • A keenness to learn
  • Proactive attitude and initiative
  • Availability to work 38 hours per week, from 8:30 am to 5 pm, Monday to Friday
