Dugald River mine is one of the world's top 10 Zinc mine operations, which has been producing zinc concentrate for customers around the world since 2017.

The mine is committed to a low-carbon future. In April 2023 the Dugald River Solar Farm began operations, supplying a third of the mine's power, and reducing emissions by 33% and this is just the start of its renewable energy transition.

Dugald River employs around 750 employees and contractors on a mix of fly-in, fly-out and local residential basis. The village provides all the amenities including a gym, with a women's only area, a tennis court, swimming pool, walking track and entertainment area.

Mine Control Supervisor

Reporting to the Mine Technical Services Superintendent, you will lead the Mine Control Team, ensuring high data capture and validation standards, using best practices when operating the Mine Control software, coordinating team activities, and communicating with other stakeholders to maintain high-quality output.

This role will be based on an 8/6: 4/3 roster with drive in drive out (DIDO) from Cloncurry or Mt Isa or fly in fly out (FIFO) from Townsville or Brisbane.

Qualifications Skills and Competencies:

  • Advanced user of Micromine Pitram, including reporting and DOME functions
  • Previous exposure to SAP and SCADA
  • Computer literacy
  • intermediate MS Office Skills (Excel, Word, PowerPoint
  • Understanding of Underground Mining operations
  • Understanding of reporting requirements and systems
  • Previous experience as a Mine Controller
  • Past supervising or leadership role experience is favourable

Key responsibilities will include:

  • Manage the Mine Control team to ensure total and continuous coverage
  • Identify skill and knowledge gaps in the team and provide adequate in house or external training and support the
  • team by providing assistance as required on a daily basis
  • Manage software licence renewals, software upgrades and relationships with software providers
  • Facilitate and coordinate any software maintenance and upgrades with IT
  • Ensure products used are fit for purpose
  • Ensure data capture quality is maintained and records are complete
  • Ensure consistency in data capture
  • Ensure Time Usage Models are maintained and used appropriately
  • Undertake data validation and quality control processes to ensure consistent reporting
  • Manage reporting issues and errors
  • Provide assistance for end of month reporting
  • Facilitate process improvement initiatives from other departments to drive continuous improvement
