Start your Information Technology career with a traineeship through HVTC Group & Host Employer, Singleton Council.

About this opportunity


You will complete a Certificate IV in Information Technology over 24 months through a combination of formal training with a Registered Training Organisation (RTO) and practical on-the-job experience with HVTC.

Throughout your formal training and practical experience in the workplace, you will have the opportunity to:

  • Assist the IT Helpdesk Officer to triage incoming helpdesk tickets and ensure they escalated appropriately.
  • Monitor all incoming queries reported to the IT Team.
  • Liaise with third party support technicians, external stakeholders and staff across the organisation.
  • Provide technical advice and resolving issues to users on computer hardware, software and mobile devices.
  • Work with customers and the IT Team to problem solve technical issues to support business needs.

To be successful in this role, you'll need to meet the following selection criteria:

  • Commitment to both on and off the job training
  • A cando attitude and willingness to learn
  • Ability to work safely and follow instructions
  • Strong organisational skills and the ability to multitask
  • Strong communication skills
  • Genuine passion about computers, technology and be driven to build a career in the field
  • Current drivers licence (P1 or above)
  • Evidence of COVID19 vaccination
