About the Opportunity:

Hall Pacific, a leading civil, marine, and dredging contractor in the Pacific Islands, is seeking Mechanical Tradespeople who are residing in Fiji to join a newly awarded project in Ba River. This is an opportunity for you to develop your skills with Fiji's premier marine and dredging contractor. As a Mechanical Tradesperson, you will be responsible for maintenance and repairing of the company's range of marine equipment. The project is estimated to go for 7 to 9 months with day and night shifts as required.

Duties and responsibilities:

  • Undertaking mechanical repairs and refurbishment as required.
  • Identifying reliability issues & improvements.
  • Conducting regular planned mechanical maintenance and repairs as requested.
  • Responding to and addressing equipment breakdowns in an appropriate time frame.
  • Adhering to all OHS Policies & Procedures at all times and ensuring safety is not compromised.
  • Positively contributing to the workplace culture and actively engaging.

About you

  • Mechanical Fitter Trade Certificate/MED2 or equivalent qualifications (essential).
  • Experience on marine equipment such as dredges, barges, and vessels (essential).
  • Hydraulic systems, propulsion systems and pump experience would be beneficial.
  • Strong organisational, multi-tasking and prioritising skills
  • Ability to work in highly compliant environments, with a commitment to health, safety, community, and the environment.
  • Must be willing to learn and come to work with a positive attitude.
