The opportunity:
We are looking for an Oncology Pharmacistto join us at Icon Cancer Centre Townsville. Here you will deliver comprehensive and quality pharmacy services to our patients. This is a permanent part-time position, 45 hours per fortnight, ideally working Monday, Thursday and Friday from 8:00am to 4:00pm.

Whilst previous experience in hospital and/or oncology pharmacy is desirable, we will provide full training and ongoing support to the right candidate to help them succeed in this role, further their career and expand their skillset.

Join our supportive and collaborative team located onsite at Icon Cancer Centre, Townsville, you will provide clinical pharmacy services to patients at the Cancer Centre, ensuring that all pharmacy activities are completed to a high standard while supporting the quality use of medicines.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Using CHARM (our Oncology Information Management software), coordinate and organise the supply of cancer care medications including chemotherapy and immunotherapy for the day oncology unit patients
  • Perform medication chart reviews and medication reconciliation
  • Dispense and supply medication and pharmacy products
  • Participate in clinical screening of cancer care medication orders
  • Educate and counsel staff, patients and allied health professionals
  • Participate in the delivery of clinical trials

About You:
As a registered Pharmacist with Australian based pharmacy experience, you will have a team orientated attitude, a focus on delivering exceptional service and care to patients, and the ability to manage your own workload with good communication skills to effectively liaise with a wide range of health professionals. You will be highly driven and have high attention to detail and a passion for building on your clinical skills and knowledge.

Prior hospital and/or oncology experience is desirable, but we will provide full training and support to the right candidate to help them further their career with us.
