The Assistant Conference & Events Operations Manager reports to the Conference & Events Operations Manager and collaborates with department supervisors and team leaders to ensure smooth execution of various events such as functions, dinners, expos, and conferences.

Success in this position involves effectively managing a large team of food and beverage attendants to deliver excellent service in Brisbane's largest conference facility. Working closely with other hotel departments like Sales and Kitchen teams is crucial.

What you will be responsible for:

  • Guiding, mentoring, and training a team of food and beverage ambassadors in banquet operations
  • Supervising and assigning tasks while upholding brand standards
  • Meeting client expectations for each event
  • Providing high-end service in line with Sofitel brand standards
  • Collaborating with other hotel departments to innovate new products and services
  • Fostering a strong Heartist culture and a team dedicated to delivering memorable guest experiences.
Qualifications

Your background and skills should encompass:

  • A focus on luxury service and a commitment to advancing your career with Sofitel
  • Over 2 years of leadership experience in supervising or leading a large operational team
  • Excellent networking abilities with a proven track record in building and managing stakeholder relationships
  • Clear communication skills
  • Proficiency in IT with strong computer skills
  • Experience in cultivating a positive team culture
  • A history of outstanding performance and accomplishments.
