About the role:

  • Lead and motivate the Civil Operations & Assets Branch to achieve goals and projects.
  • Build strong relationships with internal and external partners for consistent support and data management.
  • Develop and implement a sustainable framework for maintenance and construction of Council infrastructure.
  • Coordinate departmental strategies and plans, including IT services, property, and corporate data/inventory

Duties:

  • Manage the Civil Operations and Assets Branch to deliver timely and costeffective construction and maintenance activities for Council infrastructure.
  • Provide expert technical oversight for asset management and engineering projects.
  • Ensure compliance with risk management systems and standards for maintenance activities.
  • Continuously review and improve work practices, service delivery methods, and business processes.
  • Foster a positive work culture that promotes teamwork, accountability, and continuous improvement.

Skills and experience:

  • Tertiary qualifications or extensive experience in engineering, project management or asset management
  • Previous leadership experience managing the Civil Operations
  • Experience in the implementation of asset management systems
  • Welldeveloped communication skills with proven ability in consultation, negotiation and conflict resolution
  • Strong analytical and problemsolving skills
  • Welldeveloped financial and budget management skills
  • Driver's Licence "C" class
