Job Description:
Our Family:
- I am a single dad, working professional, with 2 boys aged 7 and 8. Both boys are diagnosed with ASD, however they are high functioning and their challenges mostly centre around emotional regulation. They are beautiful kids who love to play computer games, build lego or magnetic blocks, go to the park, ride bikes & scooters, etc. Mr 8 loves to play soccer. Mr 7 loves all things music. We do have 2 cats at home as well who are very friendly, 1 will be very timid and scared of new people for the first day or 2 but can be coaxed out with food or general acceptance after the first day or two.
Your Duties:
- We would need assistance with the following: 1. Pick up kids from school 2. Do homework a couple of days per week with both kids 3. keep the kids entertained until about 5:30PM 4. start dinner/bedtime routine with the kids from 5:30PM 6:30PM 5. Some basic housekeeping duties such as kids laundry, tidy up house where kids have been playing, tidy kitchen after dinner
Our Perfect Caregiver:
- Someone that is experienced with kids who have some higher needs or experience with ASD in particular would be ideal. Be kind and loving but able to find the right balance with being firm and fair as necessary to help the kids understand boundaries. Please have your own vehicle, car seats will be provided. Otherwise just being a kind human my kids can spend time with in the afternoon to do fun activities with before starting the dinner/bedtime routine.
