Protocol and Program Team
The Protocol and Program branch is responsible for the delivery of the official Government House program.

The Team is responsible for policy, protocol and logístical matters as well as providing direct support to the Governor, Governor's Spouse, and the Official Secretary on a day-to-day basis.

Duties

  • Under the direction of the Deputy Official Secretary Program, attend the Governor and spouse at official functions, and prepare the necessary arrangements and briefings for those functions.
  • Assist in the preparation speeches for the Governor and spouse.
  • Assist in the coordination of functions within Government House.
  • Arrange tours of regional Victoria by the Governor and spouse.
  • Conduct research and other projects for the Governor, as well as the Official Secretary and other senior staff as required.
  • Under the direction of the Deputy Official Secretary Program, assist in the care of house guests of Government House.
  • Respond to enquiries from stakeholders regarding matters of protocol.
  • Perform as a member of the Office of the Governor any other duties as directed by the Official Secretary, or delegate.
Desirable requirement
A higher education in a relevant discipline is desirable, but not mandatory.
