Then we want you to join our team of intelligent and collaborative Changemakers and make your mark on tomorrowAs the Lead Wind Engineer, you will hold a multi-faceted role that will comprise of people and technical leadership, internal/external relationship management, and project management responsibilities.

The successful candidate will be ideally based from our Melbourne office.

Our team has expertise in:
solar, wind, hydropower, thermal energy, waste-to-energy and bioenergybattery storage, network distribution and systems, and automation What you'll do:

  • Collaborate on the technical design and delivery of projects
  • Lead a team of Wind Engineers within a multi-disciplined engineering team to deliver wind pre-construction and operational energy yield assessments, technical due diligence, power curve verification, and independent engineering for utility scale wind projects
  • Provide the technical leadership of Wind engineering as a subject matter expert
  • Lead the scope and budget development in response to client needs and objectives
  • Interface with internal/external stakeholders to: Allocate resources Track budgets Assist with material requisitions Approve vendor requirements and procurement
  • Contribute to the broader team effort of business development including the participation in project proposals
  • Adopt an autonomous working style within a multi-disciplined engineering environment
  • Undertake site visits and field investigations when required About you:
Hold a relevant engineering degree from a recognized institution Hold or have eligibility for membership with Engineers Australia Extensive experience within a Senior Wind Engineer or similar role, ideally within a consultancy Proven ability to lead a successful team Outstanding communication and interpersonal skills Possess strong analytical skills, report writing and broad experience with all wind engineering tools Knowledge and understanding of relevant IEC standards In addition, you will bring the following skills and attributes: Natural connector Problem solver with a powerful team spirit Adaptable Someone ready to do the kind of work the world needs About WSP
