About the role

  • An exciting time in the company's journey having recently formed a merged entity between Santos and Oil Search, we have a great opportunity to join the procurement team located in the Brisbane office. Part of a high performing team stewarding circa $1.7B per annum spend for Santos PNG and Australia Onshore assets, you will be responsible for development and execution of sourcing strategies, contract management and supplier management for the PNG Asset.
  • Key accountabilities include:
  • Perform sourcing and contract management tasks that deliver sustained value to the company
  • Work collaboratively with key stakeholders to ensure business needs are understood and sourcing strategies aligned.
  • Work with Procurement Category Lead(s), contributing to the development and delivery of Santos procurement category plans
  • Identify and deliver cost and business efficiency outcomes.
  • Develop negotiation plans in collaboration with stakeholders, ensuring preapproval for possible fallback positions and authority to negotiate effective outcomes. Lead negotiations and work with negotiation teams to ensure a united approach.
  • Support procure to pay activities for assigned contracts / categories
  • Ensure security of supply through effective risk identification and mitigation.
  • Ensure assigned contract compliance with all internal and external requirements, and effective administration of contracts.

About you

  • To be successful in this position you will ideally hold a tertiary qualification in Law, Business, Supply Chain, or Construction. You will have worked recently in a similar position in supply chain and have at least 5 years base level of knowledge and competency. Experience developing contracting strategies and administering complex EPC/Construction contracts is highly desirable as is experience with SAP and eProcurement systems.
CIPS Membership is highly desirable.
