At Verbrec, safety is paramount, and we cultivate a people-centric environment to drive progress towards a sustainable and intelligent future.About youIn line with our continuous growth, we are seeking a Lead or Principal Piping Engineer, or a Senior Mechanical Engineer ready to transition into a leadership role. The ideal candidate should possess extensive experience, particularly in the Petrochemical and Oil and Gas sectors. A key requirement is the ability to manage projects independently and oversee the development of a dynamic team.Aside from a robust background in technical piping engineering, the candidate should also have a solid grasp of pressure vessels and storage tanks. Collaboration within a multidisciplinary team, specifically on medium-sized brownfield projects, is crucial.About the roleWe are in search of a Lead Piping Engineer to collaborate with a tight-knit group of engineers, designers, and project engineers to meet Verbrec's and clients' expectations. The ideal candidate will possess:
  • Minimum 10 years' experience in piping systems design.
  • In-depth knowledge of piping design codes like ASME B31.3 and AS 4041.
  • Proficiency in executing piping engineering design and documentation from inception to construction phase.
  • Background in oil and gas facilities or similar heavy industries.
  • Experience in piping stress modeling and software tools such as AutoPIPE.
  • Track record in creating engineering estimates and quotations.
  • Ability to handle multiple projects independently under tight timelines.
  • Degree or equivalent qualification in the field.
  • Registered professional engineer in Queensland (RPEQ).
