Note - This will be a 12 months fixed term contract role.

Job Purpose:


This role reports to the Professional Veterinary Affairs Manager and is responsible for enhancing professional engagement within the veterinary industry through conferences, events, industry partnerships and sponsored activities.

This includes developing and implementing strategic plans to engage veterinary professionals and industry partners through face to face conferences, digital, and social media platforms.

It is also responsible for executing Hill's own internal company conferences.


The role will involve relationship management and ongoing fulfilment of Hill's support of industry partners and associations, as well as management and negotiation of agreements, and ongoing analysis and optimisation of ROI with a view to identifying & leveraging business development opportunities.


Key Responsibilities:

  • Overall management, execution and oversight of sponsored, direct to profession and company conferences and related events for Australia and New Zealand.
  • Ideate & execute bespoke trade exhibition solutions for the region in response to marketing strategy and business initiatives
  • Research, brief, negotiate and manage event destinations, venues, staff and suppliers
  • Briefing, overseeing, and monitoring fulfilment of work of external consultants and stakeholders
  • Budget management, reporting and analysis of professional event engagements
  • Develop the communication strategy for effective promotion of Hill's own events
  • Work cross functionally with internal stakeholders & key account managers to understand requirements of key veterinary groups and ensure event obligations are fulfilled.
  • Develop annual budgets and yearly events calendars, and provide ongoing financial management of events
  • Report on and track event statistics to assist with future budget development and professional marketing strategies
  • Manage online event management platform (CVENT), associated CRM integrations and addons to manage events to deliver 1P data through event engagement to both Australia & New Zealand veterinary professionals
  • Oversee the day to day management of veterinary industry partner relationships and sponsorship agreements

Required Qualifications:

  • Minimum 5 years event management experience
  • Experience working in a corporate environment
  • Experience using CVENT event management software

Preferred Qualifications:

  • A Bachelor's Degree
  • Strong relationship management and negotiation skills
  • Ability to manage simultaneous projects and needs


Adaptable/problem solving
  • Enjoys thinking outside the box and thinking creatively
  • Outstanding communication skills with proven success in creating influential events, engagements, and multimedia content including copywriting
  • Budget management and analysis
  • Understanding of veterinary industry or previous health industry experience is highly regarded
