We are a super fun, caring and outgoing team.

We love to have regular teacher hangouts, have a chat and good laugh We genuinely care about all our Teachers and want to see each Teacher develop their teaching skills further and build up their career.

Our Teachers offer 1:1 lessons in Piano, Violin, Guitar, Ukulele & Music Theory Classes/Group Theory. We provide students with regular concert and public performance opportunities. E.g VIVO's Mid and End of year multi-sessional concerts at beautiful venues, Mini Student Recitals at the School, etc.

Teachers also have the opportunity to host their very own Student Recital at the School :). This is a really exciting and fun event. We love seeing growth in our Teachers, and we're here to help and guide you.

  • If your student is absent, you do not need to worry about receiving no income. VIVO values every teachers' time and commitment to their work.
  • We centre on a "No Remake Class Policy". Teachers are not required to do Remake Classes.
WHAT ARE WE LOOKING FOR?

  • Minimum 2year teaching commitment at VIVO. Kindly note, we have a strong knit and committed team and NOT looking for casual/shortterm teachers
  • Hold an Accredited Tertiary Music Qualification/s or Minimum (AMEB) Grade 7 or in any other equivalent examination board.
  • Hold a valid WWC, be an Australian Citizen/PR, have a registered ABN (as you will be teaching as an independent contractor at our studios), or willing to apply.
  • Be confident to work independently, organised, punctual & love teaching young children.
  • Excellent time management skills to teach 11, backtoback instrumental classes. Have further opportunities to teach VIVO'S Annual Group Theory Classes.
  • Create individual lesson plans, and record weekly homework notes for each student.
  • Experience teaching a range of Beginner Method Books
  • Teaching experience in AMEB Exams up to Grade 6+. Familiar with teaching AMEB Comprehensive and Repertoire Exam Syllabuses. Or willing to learn.
  • Familiarity teaching all other AMEB

Practical Exam Components:
General Knowledge, Sight-reading and Aural Tests Preparations.

  • Above all, have a cooperative team spirit & willingness to receive ongoing feedback. Value honesty and kindness.
  • Bonus Consideration: If you can also speak Cantonese/Mandarin, or have experience teaching Online ZOOM lessons. Kindly highlight in your resume.

Application Question(s):

  • Are you currently studying or hold any Music Tertiary Degree? Or, what is the highest Music Qualification you hold (e.g. highest AMEB grade)?
  • What is the minimum amount of time you can commit 100% to staying at VIVO? We usually have a 2yr minimum contract with all our teachers, in which most stay beyond this minimum time. We are not looking for casual short term teachers.
  • Can you speak and teach in English fluently? Bonus: Can you also speak Chinese/Mandarin/Cantonese?
  • Are you familiar with teaching students for AMEB Piano Exams?
  • Are you familiar with teaching young beginner Piano students?
