An exciting opportunity has arisen for a suitably experienced Work Health & Safety (WHS) & Risk Managerto join our ADSSI Limited team.

Being a large organisation, the incumbent can be basedat our Tuggerah office or any of our three Hunter sites (Beresfield, Dungog or Maitland).

Working across all ADSSI sites, the WHS & Risk Manager oversees the health, safety and wellbeing of staff, volunteers, clients and visitors by providing leadership, advice, support and coaching on WHS & Risk best practices.

They are also the Management Representatives on WHS Consultation Committees in each region.

ADSSI's Board of Directors and the management team are deeply committed to protecting and promoting safety and wellbeing for all staff and clients.

As such, the WHS & Risk Manager plays a key part in bringing this commitment to life and building our safety culture and practices across all functional areas of the business and at all operational sites.

The scope also extends to landlords, brokers and contractors.

The successful applicant will be required to travel regularly to each site, encompassing Tuggerah, Maitland, Beresfield and Dungog, and to work closely with the Management team, Supervisors, Chairs of WHS Consultation Committees and Return to Work Officers.

Key focus areas include (but are not limited to): Work Health Safety and Environment systems, policies and procedures Workers Compensation Emergency Management Reporting, Compliance and Continuous Quality Improvement To be successful for this role, you must have a tertiary qualification in WHS, Risk Management (or an equivalent discipline),andconsiderable industry experience.


As well as:
The relevant professional registration and eligibility for membership, e.g.
the Australian Institute of Health & Safety.

Extensive understanding of multiple workplace hazards and risks and the detailed principles of their identification, analysis, and management as applied in complex and diverse settings, including office, workshop, client's home, and community settings.

Demonstrated ability to lead, coach and train a diverse range of personnel Detailed knowledge and experience in emergency and critical incident investigation and management.

Practical written and oral communication skills for diverse audiences/settings.
Commitment to innovation and continuous improvement.
Experience in workers compensation claims management and the safe return to the workplace of injured workers.
Safe Work NSW approved First Aid Certificate.
Current NSW driver's licence, a safe driving record and access to a vehicle with comprehensive insurance.
Evidence of COVID-19 Vaccination (including Booster)

Desirable but not essential:
Previous experience working in the not-for-profit sector with older people and people who live with disability.
Knowledge of Consumer Directed Care, NDIS and Aged Care Guidelines.
