Job Details:

Job Summary:
Performs both routine and complex maintenance duties associated while following established standards and practices. Provide specialist ICT services within a small maintenance team of simulation specialists. This position works under limited supervision, and liaises regularly with military aircrew.

Essential Job Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Maintain the integrity of existing systems as well as provide expert ICT advice on system upgrades
  • Develop and update standard operating procedures and bench level instructions
  • Interpret network drawings
  • Assist in coordinating deployment preparations, including: pod shipping and associated commercial invoices and Shipping Memos, liaise with Customs, packup, ICADS terrain and airspace files and Mission Lineups
  • Test Common Modular Pod (CMP) software releases and oversee implementation of CMP firmware updates to the P5 pod fleet. Liaise with Airforce engineers to validate software test and loading.
  • Work with engineers to investigate complex issues, component failures and component redesigns.
  • Test and implement approved modifications to the IT system.
  • Perform maintenance of all computers and associated peripherals as required
  • Maintain records of all support and repair activities in accordance with contractual requirements
  • Plan and support Live Monitor activities at local and deployed locations.
  • Train military aircrew and groundcrew in the system

General Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Comply with Cubic's Quality Management System
  • Comply with Cubic Occupational Health, Safety and Environment policies and procedures
  • Comply with security in accordance with established policies and procedures of the organisations
  • Comply with Cubic Human Resources Procedures
  • Other duties as requested

Minimum Job Requirements:

Qualifications:

  • Cert IV in Aeroskills or equivalent
  • Current Drivers Lice
  • Hold an Australian Defence / Industry security clearance (NV1 or higher)
  • CompTIA A+ and/or CompTIA Network+ Certification or equivalent experience
  • Other Formal IT related qualifications as well as some technical/maintenance experience or aptitude (a combination of qualifications and experience across both these areas will be well regarded)
Skills/Experience/Knowledge

  • Sound knowledge of computer hardware, operating systems, and networking.
  • Ability to use PC software such as word processors, spread sheets and databases
  • Ability to draft and present test reports and publications amendment recommendations.
  • Ability to lift 25kgs
