Yarrabee Coal Company, a subsidiary of Yancoal Australia, is located in Blackwater, QLD, approximately 2 hours west of Rockhampton.
We have an exciting opportunity for a Diesel Fitter to join our team.
About the Role
Reporting to the Crew Supervisor, you will be part of a dynamic team. The Engineering Tradesperson – Mechanical (Diesel Fitter) is responsible for ensuring reliable mechanical systems for maximum machine availability and safety on site. You will become proficient in Yarrabee's plant and equipment, performing service and repairs independently.
Roster: 7/7; Day/Night; 12-hour shifts
About You
To succeed in this role, you need the following qualifications and experience:
- Relevant diesel fitter/heavy vehicle trade qualifications
- Strong communication skills
- Basic computer skills for word processing and spreadsheets
- Proficient in fault finding on heavy mining equipment
- Ability to prioritize workload and work independently
- Skilled in hazard identification and safety responsiveness
- Prior experience in plant and machinery maintenance in mining or heavy industry
- Previous experience in fault finding on heavy mining equipment
- Experience with excavator and field breakdowns
- Applicable Coal Competencies
- Current Standard 11 Mine Induction (Surface)
- Valid QLD Driver's License
- Advanced mechanical knowledge and fault finding on heavy equipment
