Queensland Hydro is a publicly owned entity established by the Queensland Government to design, deliver, operate and maintain long duration pumped hydro energy storage assets that will be the cornerstone for the transformation of the state's energy system.


The organisation will drive delivery of world-class pumped hydro assets to provide the long-term storage and reliability needed to power Queensland's clean energy future.

The organisation will play a critical role in assisting the Queensland Government to meet its renewable energy targets and net zero emissions by 2050, supporting the shift in the Australian economy to a decarbonised energy system.


The role
The Field Services Supervisor will provide field leadership and support the safe execution of field activity. The Field Services Supervisor will be the site contact and coordinate field activity.

In addition, the Field Services Supervisor will support the safety performance of onsite activities that align with project delivery objectives.

Key accountabilities will include;

  • Supervise all field operations including, spot audits, quality control and safety.
  • Support with onsite inductions and training required for onsite personnel.
  • Lead, direct, supervise and coordinate the activities of all contractors.
  • Support project leadership with onsite incident reporting & investigations
  • Work collaboratively with all stakeholders.
  • Undertake scheduling of work in line with the project schedule to ensure that all production targets are achieved.
  • Ensure all field works are of high quality and consistent with relevant OHS&E policy and procedure.
  • Liaise with and coordinate field activities with all public and private property owners prior to any land access under the guidance of the Land Team
  • Coordinate and deliver daily/weekly safety meeting topics to ensure lessons are learnt and shared
  • Liaise to Construction Manager the status of onsite work and provide regular status reports
  • Ensure that all relevant documentation/data has been approved and latest revised.

About you

  • Minimum of 5 years' experience as a field supervisor in the construction industry
  • Experience in delivering safety monitoring and compliance activities for largescale construction projects and maintenance activities.
  • Excellent oral and written communication with the ability to effectively communicate to all levels of management and stakeholders.
  • Effective verbal and written communication skills
  • Ability to prioritise tasks through time management and organisational skills
  • Ability to influence and motivate team members
  • Ability to work without appreciable direction
  • Strong attention to detail
