Warehouse Supervisor

Hamilton Island is seeking an experienced Warehouse supervisor to join our Maintenance Warehouse Team on a full time permanent basis.As

As the Maintenance Warehouse Supervisor, you will be responsible for the efficient operation and organization of the maintenance warehouse. You will need to ensure the accurate receipt, storage, and timely distribution of all materials.

You will also lead a team of Storepersons and the vehicle workshop coordinator, ensuring they perform their duties effectively while fostering a collaborative work environment.

Reporting directly to the Purchasing and Expediting Manager, you will play a crucial role in minimizing downtime and enhancing the productivity of warehouse operations.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Ensure the safe operation of vehicles, forklifts, and equipment at all times.
  • Receive inventory using established inventory principles (F.I.F.O).
  • Assist with daily cyclic stock take counting and variance reports.
  • Consolidate, record, and submit daily invoices and manifests.
  • Coordinate team members to ensure continuous efficiency and operational harmony.
  • Issue inventory items in accordance with procedures to the Maintenance team and other HIE customers.
  • Maintain an awareness among staff of WH&S policies and procedures at all times.
  • Maintain effective communication channels with customers and the Maintenance Warehouse team.
  • Oversee the receiving of goods, ensuring accuracy and quality.
  • Liaise with suppliers regarding supply errors to ensure favorable resolutions.
  • Maintain a well-organized inventory to support maintenance operations.
  • Train new and existing team members in operations.
  • Report to the Purchasing and Expediting Manager, providing updates on inventory levels, operations, and any challenges encountered.

Experience & Qualifications:

  • Full driver's license (Essential)
  • Forklift license (Essential)
  • At least 3 years supervisor experience in a warehouse environment, including inventory control (Desireable)
  • Knowledge of inventory management and enterprise resource planning software and Microsoft Office Suite. (Desireable)
  • Understanding of warehouse operations, including receiving, storage, and inventory control.
  • Familiarity with maintenance equipment and supplies across various trade industries.
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills.
  • A working understanfing of OH&S issues within a warehouse environment
