Job Title: Senior Lawyer

This is an Urgent 4 week contract role starting 3rd June to cover the business while they wait for a permanent overseas candidate to join them.

My client is looking for an experienced Senior Lawyer to join their legal team, serving their Australia and New Zealand operations. The role involves safeguarding the company's interests in contract negotiations, settlements, and litigation while ensuring compliance with all applicable laws. The successful candidate will provide strategic legal advice and oversee a wide range of transactional and corporate structuring work.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Advise business leaders on legal matters and risk management.
  • Collaborate on high-profile projects, transactions, commercial arrangements, disputes, regulatory compliance, and employment matters.
  • Draft, review, and negotiate contracts related to real estate services.
  • Manage legal risks and improve legal processes and protocols.
  • Handle contentious legal issues and coordinate external legal counsel.
  • Support finance team initiatives and assist with trust accounts and debt recovery.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor of Laws degree with at least 6 years of in-house or private practice experience.
  • Admission to legal practice in an Australian jurisdiction.
  • Fluent in English with strong communication skills.
  • Knowledge of real estate and financial principles.

Skills:

  • Excellent analytical, negotiation, and presentation skills.
  • Ability to work independently and manage multiple tasks.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications.
  • Strong leadership and team collaboration skills.
