The Clinical Supervisor plays a pivotal role in the program's leadership team, focusing on overseeing and executing new/innovative clinical services or treatment models and providing clinical supervision and professional development to licensed personnel. Additionally, this role involves ensuring clients promptly receive top-quality clinical services; supervising administrative functions to support program operations; and ensuring program compliance with federal, state, and city regulations and funding bodies. The supervisor collaborates closely with the program director and leadership team to construct a cohesive, mission-oriented team dedicated to guaranteeing clients receive timely access to quality care and services. The supervisor is accountable for the clinical supervision of staff at the main clinic and satellite locations.

Some responsibilities include, but are not limited to:

Clinical Services

Responsible for developing and overseeing new clinical services or care models to adequately address the clinical requirements of individuals/families and communities we cater to, while ensuring clients access high-quality clinical care in a timely manner. Responsibilities include:

  • Identifying deficiencies in clinical services at the program level and devising potential solutions to bridge those gaps
  • Leading the implementation of evidence-based treatment or directly overseeing and handling responsibility for innovative care models, in collaboration with the JB training department and/or external organizations
  • Ensuring clients access care promptly by expediting admissions and discharges, promptly assigning cases, and ensuring clinicians manage manageable caseloads to minimize client wait times for services
  • Tracking appointment availability and show rates
  • Providing direct services to clients as required, including intakes and crisis interventions
  • Supervising crisis intervention services
  • Other clinical duties as delegated

Tasked with ensuring top-quality clinical services are delivered as follows:

  • Implementing quality improvement initiatives
  • Engaging in quality assurance activities such as chart reviews and utilization management
  • Offering individual and group supervision to program staff
  • Incorporating recovery, rehabilitation, treatment, and occupational components of the program, where applicable
  • Monitoring and following up on program incidents

Personnel

Accountable for ensuring appropriate staffing levels to sustain clinical care and assessing staff performance. Responsibilities include:

  • Participating in recruitment and onboarding of new staff
  • Timely completion of performance evaluations and appropriately addressing performance issues
  • Conducting or participating in staff training and development initiatives
  • Monitoring staff attendance and vacation scheduling to ensure program coverage
  • Supervising staff, as per licensure requirements
  • Planning and participating in other program activities

Administrative Functions and Program Operations

As a member of the leadership team, responsible for ensuring efficient program operations, maintaining program compliance with pertinent regulatory bodies, and ensuring fiscal sustainability. Responsibilities include:

  • Leading team meetings, case conferences, and other designated meetings
  • Ensuring program and staff adhere to regulations and care standards governing the program
  • Utilizing various electronic databases to oversee billing and address any fiscal or billing challenges
  • Identifying and establishing systems to enhance program operations as part of program management
  • May serve as a backup to other program leaders, assuming operational responsibility in their absence
  • Available to work on Saturdays and evenings
  • Other administrative duties as assigned

Qualifications:

The Jewish Board seeks skilled individuals of all backgrounds with the following qualifications:

  • Master's degree in human services and New York State clinical licensure in social work (LCSW). Strong clinical aptitude and familiarity with evidence-based practices. Exceptional organizational skills, teamwork, and communication abilities. Experience with electronic medical records and proficient in Microsoft Office usage.
