About the program

_Justice programs_


Provide holistic support service for young people involved in the justice system or who are exiting adult prisons and/or Youth Justice centres, who are assessed as high risk/need, with limited social and family networks, limited accommodation and post release support options and experiencing multiple and complex health problems.

Staff deliver quality programs in a manner that reflects the social justice principles of participation, equity, access and respect.

Services include:

intensive outreach support, case management, supported accommodation, drug and alcohol counselling, recreation programs, employment/training programs, 24/7 after hours emergency assistance and duty work and referral service.

Our adult and youth justice work contributes to regional and state-wide advisory forums and networks, and assists in a more comprehensive approach to justice through partnerships with Government agencies and other service providers, as well as to legislation, policy development and advocacy.


About the role


We are looking to recruit an enthusiastic and experienced case support worker who is able to provide case management to men and women exiting prison.

This is a Part time position (0.8 EFT) 6 months fixed contract

_ReConnect Program_


ReConnect provides transitional support to eligible participants who are exiting custody and will be residing in the North and West Metropolitan regions of Melbourne.

In order to facilitate community reintegration and reduce reoffending the program supports participants to address seven key domains; housing, mental health, AOD, employment, education & training, independent living skills and family & community connectedness.

We are looking to recruit an enthusiastic and experienced case support workers who are able to provide case management to men and women exiting prison.


Attractive Salary $77,577 per annum plus super plus salary packaging benefit, is offered together with ongoing professional and career development as well as opportunities for personal growth.


Responsibilities for this role include

  • Work closely with the Senior Practitioner to support day to day operations of the Reconnect program
  • Manage a case load of participants with multiple and complex needs
  • Ability to work without supervision in the community in an outreach capacity
  • Support participants to develop individually tailored case plans that are goalfocused and participantled

Desired Skills and Experience:

  • Tertiary qualification/s and/or experience in field required
  • Experience working effectively with people engaged in the criminal justice system and a strong understanding of the challenges facing individuals as they transition from prison to community
  • Good practice framework(s) and strong relational and interpersonal skills
  • Strong understanding of working within a compliance framework
