Southern Cross Care QLD has an exciting opportunity for a Senior Business Analyst to join the Finance team based at our Support Centre, conveniently located in Upper Mt Gravatt.

About the role

Working as a Senior Business Analyst, you will be supporting the Chief Financial Officer with SCCQ's strategic growth opportunities through the development of long-term strategic forecasts, scenario analysis as well as forward planning and modelling.

Key accountabilities of the role would include:

  • Short-term and long-term forecasting and financial modelling to provide the organisation with robust forecast and scenario planning capability.
  • Supporting SCCQ with strategic growth plans through long-term strategic forecasts for the current portfolio and future opportunities.
  • Assisting the CFO with due diligence tasks and preparation of business cases for Board and Committees.
  • Understanding preliminary assessments of investment opportunities in terms of investment gates, IRR, NPV and ROI.
  • Undertaking full financial analysis of strategic projects including discounted cash flow analysis
  • Undertaking post implementation review of strategic projects
  • Contributing to the development and implementation of short and long-term investment and funding strategies to maintain the ongoing financial sustainability of SCCQ.
  • Identifying opportunities to improve business performance and service delivery.
  • Supporting Business Analysts to ensure benchmarking analysis is regularly undertaken with key industry benchmarking surveys to assist with driving top quartile performance.
  • Providing financial modelling support for operational initiatives and strategic decision-making.
  • Providing analysis on potential impact of proposed changes to government policy and funding models to identify risks and opportunities.

What you will bring to the role?

  • Tertiary qualification in accounting, business or related field
  • CA/CPA/CIMA qualification or equivalent
  • 5+ years financial analysis and advanced modelling skills
  • Experience in Aged Care, Retirement living, home and community care (desirable)
  • Experience leveraging data-driven insights to optimise business performance and strategic decision-making
  • Strong analytical skills and keen attention to detail
  • Ability to clearly communicate complex data, insights and recommendations to key stakeholders
  • Experience in an organisation with a dispersed geographic service base
  • Demonstrated understanding of business analytics tools and enterprise information management
  • Demonstrated experience with the use of the Microsoft Office suite of products with a superior capability in MS Excel.
