Joiner

Adaptive Joinery manufacture commercial architectural joinery, requiring a level of technical expertise and attention to detail, to maintain our standards of quality, and uphold our reputation in the Australian market.

The position of the joiner involves preparation of materials, assembly of timber cabinetry products and installation on site.

You will have the support of other enthusiastic team members who are all dedicated to a common goal of achieving the best outcome for the company as well as the client.

You will be primarily focusing on commercial office fit out projects.

GENERAL DUTIES

• Shop drawings comprehension
• Measuring (onsite and factory), cutting and laminating
• Timber components assembly and preparation
• Assist with plans and programming advice based on experience
• Job processing including site measurements (where required), assisting in ordering of materials and produce working sheets for manufacture of joinery items (where applicable)
• Commercial carpentry installing of wooded structures as specified
• Ensuring a quality check on all items before leaving the factory
• Trouble shooting production processes and issues
• Implementation of production and processes improvements
• Organize and take responsibility for other personnel that may be required to assist you in production and arranging installation
• Liaise with production supervisor re: production schedules, delivery dates (WIP board) and installation
• Attend and participate in production meetings as required

• Implementing the adaptive occupational health and safety procedures using the principles of the hierarchy of controls in all activities to minimize the risk to all personnel on site
• Stimulation a high level of safety awareness at all times

• Insisting on correct and safe work practices at all times
• Assisting in the identification and preparation of safe work procedures
• Ensuring safe equipment and plant is provided and maintained
• Participating in accident/incident investigations

EDGING:

• Attempt to keep edger flowing at all times

ASSEMBLY:

• Construct and assemble all units within your capabilities
• Ensure every unit fully complete before moving to stage for setup and despatch
• Ensure that its clean with all stickers removed (except 1)
• Wrap if suitable
• Ensure jobs stacked together in dispatch area and using as little space as possible

LOADING:

• Energetically assist in loading all jobs, particularly those urgent/critical time framed
• INSTALLATION
• Install cabinetry on site in line with client approved shop drawings defect free
• Perform quality check at completion of the job to ensure cabinetry is clean, free from scratches, dints and manufacturing stickers, bumpers, screw caps, etc are all in place

CUTTING - CNC:

• Liaison with programmer to ensure cut priorities are correct
• Achieve cut targets daily
• Assist in panel saw cutting in between sheets
• OVERFLOW
• Every employee is expected to work back up the production flow at all times, to start following jobs, to keep his work area tidy and assist with general tidy of entire factory.
