About this opportunity

You will complete a Certificate III in Engineering - Fabrication over 48 months through a combination of formal training with a Registered Training Organisation (RTO) and practical on-the-job experience with your Host Employer, Vacvator Pty Ltd.

Throughout your formal training and practical experience in the workplace, you will have the opportunity to:

• Perform planned maintenance repairs of fabrication equipment
• Mark out jobs, set up machines, prepare materials, tools and fixtures for fabricating
• Assist in the welding, cutting and marking of fabrication sheets

- fabrication, forming and shaping techniques

• Use a combination of hand and power tools such as plasma cutters and presses, Mig and Tig welders and guillotines to carry out duties
• Work with qualified tradesmen in a workshop environment
• Assemble fabricated components.

The successful applicant
To be successful in this role, you will need to possess the following capabilities and knowledge:

• Commitment to both on and off the job training
• Demonstrated interest and passion for the Fabrication trade
• Positive attitude and willingness to learn and develop new skills and knowledge
• Ability to work in a team environment
• Strong understanding of safety and manual handling techniques

Mandatory Requirements

• Current manual drivers licence (P1 or above)
• Ability to undertake a standard medical including Audiometry and a drug and alcohol screen
• White Card
