Your New Opportunity

An excellent career opportunity exists for a Fleet Mechanic to be part of our team, reporting to the National Maintenance Manager. You will be an experienced Diesel Mechanic who is ready to take the next step in your career by starting with a company whose value is to promote and grow from within.

Your new role will require you to service, repair and maintain the PENSKE Rental and Leasing fleet. This will include ensuring the fleet is presentable, reliable and compliant to NHVL. Your duties will include:

  • Repair of vehicles as required and ensuring all required paperwork is completed and accurate;
  • Manage a small stock of inventory and make sure the workshop is maintained and in a clean, tidy state at all times;
  • Maintain the fleet to a high aesthetic appearance by washing, cleaning and detailing;
  • Ensure compliance with statutory and legislative requirements;
  • Diagnose, repair and implement strategies to maximise fleet availability while controlling costs;
  • Identifying and recommending preventative maintenance on equipment;
  • Co-ordinator your workload and ensure servicing of vehicles are in accordance to the OEM / company scheduled maintenance program;
  • The ability to travel and assist in field service activities as required.

Your skills and experience

  • Completion of appropriate trade qualification, preferably mechanical trade certificate;
  • Previous experience in servicing heavy vehicles/road transport (preferrable);
  • Ability to work unsupervised and autonomously with a strong safety focus;
  • HR License (Preferred but not necessity);
  • Strong communication skills is essential (written and verbal) and the ability to communicate effectively;
