Medical Receptionist Traineeship

Maxima, in partnership with our host employer, are looking for a committed individual to undertake a business traineeship as a receptionist within a busy Ophthalmology (eye condition specialist) practice.

This diverse traineeship will see you working fulltime in the city fringe suburb of Wayville.

Day-to-day you will act as the face of the business and learn the skills to handle a busy reception desk.

Upon completion you could progress into various roles including a patients' officer, management positions and more.


Over the course of 18-months, gain a nationally recognised
Certificate III in Business within the
Medical Stream, paid industry experience to support your study, and continuous mentoring from a dedicated Maxima Consultant.


Duties Include:

  • Meet and greet patients and visitors
  • Maintain and manage patient records
  • Answer incoming telephone calls and followup where required
  • Maintain reception and waiting area
  • General administration tasks including photocopying etc.

  • Displays a positive and proactive attitude
  • Demonstrates high attention to detail
  • Works effectively as part of a team and under limited supervision
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Effective organisational and time management skills
  • Strong work ethic; reliable and punctual

Role Requirements:

  • Working with Children Check (or willing to obtain)
  • COVID19 Vaccinations (including booster)
  • Previous customer service experience
  • Reliable transport
