Are you ready to take your career to new heights? Compare the Market is searching for a skilled Data Scientist to join our team.

This is a critical role where you will harness the power of data, driving our business forward through advanced analytics.

You'll be the creative force behind identifying opportunities and designing solutions that add substantial value to Compare the Market.

Reporting to the Head of Data Science and collaborating closely with both technical and business teams, you'll be the go-to expert in translating data into actionable insights that shape our strategic direction.

With a unique blend of skills spanning mathematics, statistics, machine learning, and business acumen, you'll be empowered to explore new frontiers in data science.

Your expertise will not only inform decision-making but also propel us to stay ahead in a rapidly evolving landscape.

What You'll Do:
Collaborate with business stakeholders to identify and define valuable data science opportunities.
Guide technical and non-technical requirements for data science solutions, ensuring alignment with statistical assumptions, hypothesis testing, and value measurement.

Develop data science solutions, including but not limited to:

Extracting, cleaning, manipulating, and exploring data.
Performing statistical analyses, data visualisation, and reports that communicate findings.
Training, testing, and optimising machine learning models.
Deploying, monitoring, and managing machine learning models in production.
Time-series analysis, computational optimisation, simulation, operations research, and other analytical methods.

Maintain high-quality standards in code, documentation, testing, and solution validity.
Recommend enhancements to upstream systems for improved data science product development.
Support the evaluation, implementation, and modification of AI tooling.
Senior roles entail establishing and enforcing data science standards and best practices.
Ensure machine learning systems meet operational requirements.
Foster a data-driven culture by demonstrating the value of data science and mentoring colleagues.
Oversee Compare the Market's performance in data science initiatives.

What You'll Bring:
Tertiary Qualifications in Computer Science, Physics, Mathematics, Engineering, or related discipline.
Strong communication skills and the ability to translate technical concepts and describe the value of data science solutions.
Demonstrated experience in a similar role and proven ability to develop and deliver high-quality solutions.
Demonstrated experience in building, deploying, and maintaining production-level machine learning models.
Understanding of reproducibility, versioning, monitoring, testing and automation in data science operations.
Solid understanding of software development best practices.
Expertise with Python and SQL for data science work is required.
Familiarity with Databricks, MLFlow, and Spark/PySpark are well regarded.
