Machine Operator/forklift Driver/process

The Machine Operator must ensure all jobs and work is carried out in an accurate, timely and safe manner and that all works and off-cuts are clearly identified for traceability and put away.

This role will spend a majority of their time working with aluminium saws and cutting equipment.

Proper and in-depth training will be provided to ensure compliance with safety and quality standards and a clear understanding of all day-to-day processes and expectations.


KEY ACCOUNTABILITIES

  • Forklift driving
  • Machine operation
  • Picking and Packing
  • Dispatch/Inspection duties
  • Cleaning duties
  • Trades assistance
  • General administrative duties as required.

These include, but are not limited to:
record keeping, delivery dockets, scheduling, recording maintenance history and maintenance records, job reports and stock adjustments

  • Workshop OH&S responsibilities (training will be provided as required)
  • Actively support and contribute to the maintenance and development of a safe working environment and team

KEY CHALLENGES

  • Physical labour requirements
  • Working against production deadlines and time sensitive tasks

REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS


This position requires someone who holds the ability to work under pressure while balancing the need to meet commercial outcomes.

The Machine Operator will be proactive in regard to safety, have a high attention to detail, and excellent time management skills with the ability to meet tight deadlines.


  • Forklift Licence and experience in operating a forklift
  • Trade certificate in engineering, metals or aerospace industry
  • Experience and/or ability to operate production machinery waterjet cutter, bandsaw, guillotine
  • Demonstrates a high level of accuracy in their work
  • Ability to read and understand engineering drawings and operate different technological platforms i.e. AutoCAD, SAP etc.
  • Time management and task prioritization skills
  • Good written and verbal communication skills Ability to learn computer operations relevant to machine operations
  • Experience in working to strict work procedures in relation to safety, quality and specifications
  • Strong organisational skills and the ability to meet deadlines
  • Willingness to work various shifts as needed (day, afternoon or night)

Schedule:

  • 8 hour shift

Supplemental pay types:

  • Performance bonus
