About the role

This is a full time opportunity located in Brisbane CBD, with occasional travel required as it also supports Meandu Mine (near Kingaroy).

The Senior Finance Business Partner collaborates closely with senior operational leaders and diverse business units, providing financial insights, conducting analyses, and offering recommendations to drive profitability, efficiency, and sustainable growth. The focus is on strategically guiding the financial direction of the assigned portfolio, acting as a catalyst for well-informed decision-making, and ensuring that financial strategies align with the unique requirements of each division.

Key activities include:

  • Lead and engage with divisional teams to formulate comprehensive financial plans, covering budgeting, forecasting, and scenario analysis.
  • Execute month-end accounting and reporting processes, update and oversee key operational drivers, ensuring accurate reconciliation.
  • Take the lead in consistently monitoring financial performance throughout the month, proactively identifying opportunities for optimisation and growth.
  • Effectively communicate financial insights and recommendations to Senior Management. Collaborate with team leaders and departments to ensure financial alignment with overall organisational objectives.
  • Provide guidance on appropriate accounting treatments for expenses, capital expenditures, and revenue.

About you

  • Experience in senior finance leadership roles within the energy industry or related sectors.
  • Strong communication and relationship-building skills, with the ability to influence and collaborate effectively.
  • In-depth knowledge of industry and trends, with a forward-thinking approach to finance.
  • Exceptional financial acumen with a track record of shaping strategic business partnering.
  • Relevant tertiary qualification and membership of a professional association (e.g. CA/CPA)
