Our strategy is to focus on creating a safe work environment where our employees feel strongly connected to our values and objectives, and where the capability of our people is key to our success.

Come and be a part of this success.

About the role

BHP Operations Services (OS) delivers industry leading mining services across BHP operations Australia-wide with specialist capabilities in load and haul, fixed plant maintenance, mobile maintenance and off-site Repair Centre services.

BHP Operations Services has a strong focus on people capability and culture. We know our people are our greatest asset and are at the centre of everything we do. We focus on high performance safety and productivity, underpinned by an inclusive culture that values diversity. With the opportunity to advance your career across locations and commodities, join the team and make your place in BHP.

Due to a period of sustained growth, an exciting opportunity has become available to join the OS Growth Operations Leadership Team and lead our Mackay Repair Centre. Reporting to the General Manager, you will oversee the safe execution of Repair Centre product and service offerings, lead the growth of new products and services and optimise overall performance.

Being passionate about people and their development, one of your key responsibilities will be to continue to build the culture, diversity and capability of the team. You will guide your teams to embed improvement into the way we work - every day, empower ownership across all organisational levels and ensure that work is aligned to business-critical success factors and value delivery.

In this role, you will cultivate strong relationships through effective communication and consultation, and shape the culture to ensure a safe, productive, quality, innovative and disciplined approach to work.

The Manager Repair Centre will successfully achieve the following:

  • Continuously strive to innovate and improve productivity through embedding the standards, processes and systems of the BHP Operating System.
  • Collaboratively work with Operations, Materials Management, Warehousing and Logistics to ensure system level improvement, waste elimination and optimised utilisation of BHP owned rotable inventory.

About You

With an entrepreneurial and growth mindset your deep understanding of operating practices will be supported by relevant qualifications, and experience in delivering outstanding results leading and mentoring multi-disciplinary diverse teams. You will be motivated by continuously seeking opportunities to improve our safety, culture and performance to sustainably grow the Repair Centre value creation for BHP.

A performance and achievement orientated professional, your leadership and technical strengths, and experience working within large complex organisations will be complemented by excellent engagement and communication skills. An overriding commitment to health, safety, environment, and sustainable development of our people and culture is essential.

Your experience and knowledge of maintenance systems and the broader equipment management industry will be highly regarded to maximise the unique advantages the OS Repair Centres brings to BHP.
