Job description:

ROUSSOS is recruiting for a well-established South Australian contractor seeking an experienced Project Safety Officer.

The role

As Project Safety Officer, you will be supporting site personnel and ultimately be responsible for fostering a culture of safety.

Your duties will include but not be limited to:

  • Implementing safety management procedures
  • Uphold an awareness of WHS legislation, guidelines, and risk management in relation to the building industry
  • Ensure company policies and procedures are maintained to reflect legislative requirements
  • Conduct site inspections and audits
  • Coordinate incident investigations and required reporting
  • Provide safety education and training
  • Assist in development of hazard and risk identification processes and controls


To be successful in the role you will have previous experience in managing QHSE on construction sites in the local commercial construction industry.

You will also possess a Certificate IV in WHS.

Your strong interpersonal skills, combined with a dedication to company ethics and values will assist you in developing key relationships with subcontractors, team members, clients, and stakeholders.

You will have extensive knowledge of the current legislation and risk management processes, in addition to an understanding of quality, health, and safety management systems.
