We are seeking a dedicated and passionate Youth Engagement Officer to join our team.

In this role, you will work directly with young people within our community, focusing on youth and intergenerational projects that foster connections and build capacity.

Key responsibilities include developing an effective engagement approach with young people and forging relationships, partnerships, and pathways with external support and engagement services.


Key Responsibilities:

  • Daily engagement with young people, delivering activities and providing mentoring/coaching with a strengthsbased approach.
  • Establishing and managing a Youth Reference Group, including recruiting members and organising events and activities.
  • Collaborating with the education department and local schools to address antisocial behaviour and disengagement from school.
  • Working with stakeholders to understand and navigate the services available to young people, making, recording, and following up on referrals.
  • Contributing positively to the Community Development team while being selfmotivated to work independently within the community.
  • Organising and responding to reporting needs and assisting with the coordination of funding submissions.
  • Demonstrating a genuine interest in sparking change, advocating for young people, and understanding the diverse range of issues they face.

Requirements:

  • Driver's Licence
  • Working with Vulnerable People (WWVP)

Position Details:

Hours: Full-Time, 75 hours per fortnight

Salary Range: $70,942.42 to $79,781.87 plus superannuation
