Job Description

We are looking for a passionate and experienced casual Producer to join the 6PR Team.

The main role of the Producer will be to support the team with content pitches and creation, answering open line phone calls, researching and writing news much more

Day to day, you will report to the Executive Producer, and your duties will include but are not limited to the below:

Support the Executive Producer and Presenter with the creation and delivery of audience-focused content. Develop content ideas, research, scripting and editing stories. Cross-check all material for accuracy, ensuring content is legally sound. Edit and upload podcasts. Monitor and vet calls during the live show, ensuring suitability of callers before they go to air. Work with our News and Digital content teams to ensure consistency among our content. Investigate story tips and liaise with sources and interview subjects.

Qualifications

You will have the energy and enthusiasm to embrace our audience and promptly attend to the needs of our most valuable assets: our listeners. You will also have:

Proven producing experience in radio, television or other news media Knowledge and thirst for news and current affairs Strong customer focus and interpersonal skills Excellent phone manner Strong communication and broadcast-writing skills The capacity to thrive under pressure in a fast-paced, deadline-focused environment Have a sound understanding of media and broadcast law Ability to make quick, concise decisions Most importantly, a team player

Below are some nice-to-haves:

Degree in Media, Journalism or similar. Social and Digital media skills.
