The Communications Assistant role is a part of the Media & Communications team within the Cancer Control Campaigns and Communications division, providing assistance to the communications squad. This position aids the team in executing media and communications initiatives, supporting our endeavors to effectively convey Cancer Council priorities and elevate Cancer Council Australia's public visibility.
Key responsibilities include aiding in social media community management, communication evaluation and reporting, and media administrative duties.
Vital attributes for this role include impeccable organizational skills, keen attention to detail, a passion for communications (especially media), and the ability to collaborate within a team to complete assignments punctually.
Selection Criteria
- Passion for public relations, media relations, and communications.
- Currently enrolled in tertiary studies related to communications or a relevant field.
- Exceptional attention to detail.
- Strong time and project management skills.
- Exceptional written and verbal communication abilities.
- Excellent judgment and interpersonal competencies.
- Demonstrated news sensibility and comprehension of Australian media landscape.
- Proficient in computer operations, including utilizing word processing, spreadsheet, database, and presentation software.
- Understanding of and dedication to the non-profit sector.
