Closer to home, and centrally located in Southbank in the Melbourne CBD, we are now taking expressions of interest for a Full Time
Handyperson to join our growing team at
Mercure Melbourne Southbank.

We are seeking an energetic and enthusiastic Handyperson to assist with the smooth and efficient running of the Hotel's maintenance.

With a variety of tasks as a part of your role, your day could involve conducting property walks and equipment checks, preventative maintenance, attending to guest requests in their rooms, being a fire warden, assisting the Housekeeping team with room reconfiguration, assisting trades on site and the list goes on.

What will you be doing?

• Undertaking general repairs and maintenance as well as preventative maintenance programs throughout the Hotel. This includes basic plumbing, electrical, hydraulic, air conditioning service and repairs.
• Servicing of plant and general equipment as directed.
• Ensuring all painted areas are maintained and in good order.
• Performing duties relevant to experience and trade as applicable and also perform other maintenance related tasks as required.
• Assisting other team members in the completion of their duties.

Criteria

• Previous experience working on the maintenance of hotels, fixed plant and equipment systems preferred.
• Knowledge of preventive, predictive and reactive maintenance strategies.
• Good written and verbal communication skills.
• Used to working as part of a small team.
• Self motivated person who takes a proactive approach to work and is punctual and reliable.
• Ability to accommodate flexibility with shifts.
