About the role:

Focusing on promoting safe behaviour and a zero environmental harm culture across civil and mining construction projects throughout Qld and NSW, duties include but are not limited to the following:

  • Communicating the intent of company environmental strategy, policies, objectives, and targets;
  • Assisting with the orientation of new staff including training;
  • Identifying environmental risks to the business and the maintenance of risk registers;
  • Providing company event reporting and maintaining environmental performance reporting systems;
  • Reviewing environmental performance data to identify trends, corrective and preventive actions;
  • Identifying and implementing strategies to eliminate or reduce harm to the environment;
  • Participating in the maintenance of company environmental accreditations;
  • Conducting internal environmental audits in accordance with the schedule;
  • Assisting Precontracts with submissions and information for prequalifications, tenders, and EOIs including highlighting any permits, notifications, or authorities required for works;
  • Representing the business to external parties in relation to the environment.

About you:

To join our team, you will need the following:

  • A degree in Environmental Engineering/Science or a Civil Engineering degree with minors and/or a diploma in Environmental Engineering/Science;
  • Experience working within civil & mining construction projects in Australia;
  • Flexibility and willingness to travel to project locations as and when required;
  • Proven ability to identify, develop, plan, and oversee the implementation of appropriate environment programs, policies, and procedures;
  • Capability to provide advice, and prepare and present detailed reports to managers on environmental matters;
  • Excellent communication skills, including strong negotiation and influencing skills and the ability to establish effective working relationships with key stakeholders;
  • Be an Australian citizen/permanent resident or have a current visa allowing you the right to work in Australia.
