The Opportunity


In this position, you will play an important role within the Victorian Workers compensation team by undertaking reviews to ensure best practice in a number of areas of the claims operation, in particular relating to claims based decision making, efficiency, and enhancing strategic claims management strategies.


In this role, you will:

  • Work closely with the other members of the Claims Practice Strategy (CPS) team and the broader business to support the achievement of sustainable outcomes across Financial, People and Customer measures
  • Conduct thorough and indepth reviews of various business areas in order to provide recommendations to the business
  • Promote best practice claims management across the business
  • Support a continuous improvement focus on VIC Workers Compensation proactive intervention and innovation.
  • Ensure all customers receive the support and guidance they require for injured workers to recover and make a safe and sustainable return to work through the effective support to the claims and premium operations.
  • Analyse identified target areas to assess trends and recommend remedial action to resolve issues; ensuring strategies are implemented and the desired outcomes (strategic and APA related KPIs) are achieved.
  • Engage key stakeholders in the development, execution, and evaluation of appropriate strategy, business plans and initiatives.
  • Assist in achieving business plan goals aligned to dominant priorities and company Business Plans.
  • Identify opportunities to enhance efficiency of processes within the team, with a view to improve operational controls and performance.
  • Monitor ongoing project strategies, to ensure sustained improvement and compliance within the business.

We're looking for an enthusiastic and collaborative individual who has:

  • Claims Management experience in a leadership capacity
  • Leadership experience
  • Coaching and mentoring skills
  • Time management and organizational skills
  • Project management experience
  • Tertiary qualification in an appropriate discipline and/or demonstrated experience in a similar role
