Wintringham is a specialised non-religious not-for-profit welfare organisation.

We are committed to providing older people who are at risk or have experienced homelessness with a range of high-quality care, housing and services.

We employ more than 1,000 staff across Victoria and Tasmania


The expansion of our services into Tasmania in 2021 has seen our Tasmanian team provide tenancy and housing support services to sites across Hobart, making a difference to the lives of many financially disadvantaged people.

We have commenced operations at our Tasmanian Residential Aged Care Home based in Bellerive that is purpose-built by the Tasmanian Government for older people in need.


Your new role


We are currently seeking an eager and enthusiastic Personal Care Assistant (with the ability to administer medications) to join our Wintringham Hobart Aged Care Home on a part time basis for seven shifts per fortnight.


Your roster will be as follows:

Week 1: Thursday & Friday

Week 2:
Wednesday, Thursday, Friday, Saturday & Sunday

Your responsibilities and duties will include:

  • Assisting residents with personal care including personal hygiene, dressing, grooming and other activities of daily living
  • To observe and report changes in resident's behaviour or physical condition
  • To undertake medication management and treatment procedures as directed by the Residential Site Manager or person in charge
  • To liaise with medical practitioners, pharmacists and other health services to provide relevant services for the care and wellbeing of the residents
  • Assisting in the implementation of cigarette and alcohol programs
  • Observing and reporting changes in residents behaviour or physical condition and maintain appropriate documentation as required

What we will need from you:

  • Ability to work both in team and autonomously
  • Certificate III/IV in Aged Care/Individual Support
  • Completion of medication administration unit (HLTHPS00
  • Assist Clients with Medication)
  • Prior experience in housing & homelessness support, aged care, welfare, disability support, mental health or community/home care
  • Keen eye for detail
  • Excellent communication skills
  • The ability to enhance or maintain our residents independence and lifestyle
  • A friendly and nonjudgmental attitude
