The Opportunity

As a Senior Cyber Technical Consultant, you will work with a diverse range of technologies, stakeholders, and clients to perform cybersecurity assessments and provide security advice.

You will work both within the Cyber team and on cross-organisation projects focusing on bringing your skills and expertise into client deliverables. You will work across a range of different teams and clients, and you will need to proactively manage your time, proactively engaging client managers and project managers to ensure consistent quality client delivery.

The role itself focuses on both technical and business elements of cyber including responsive system monitoring, threat hunting and analysis, security configuration and design of various systems as well as contribution to writing of reports and formal audits and assessments.

Although formally reporting to the Head of Cyber, you will need to work with various client managers, consulting, services, and development teams to drive excellent team and client outcomes.

Responsibilities:

  • Collaborating with cross-functional teams to work through design and implementation engagements.
  • Engage with clients providing advice on areas such as cloud computing governance and risk, mobile device threats and management, third party security and identity management for example.
  • Undertake detailed risk assessments, including liaising with and reporting to senior business, IT and executive board level management.
  • Leading both the development and implementation of cyber uplift programs for clients
  • Lead and assist in security incident investigation.
  • Perform threat hunting and intelligence activities through security tools.
  • Lead and enhance cloud security governance and architecture across M365, AWS and Azure
  • Work through security architecture, design and implementation engagements.
  • Continuously improve use of security tools, validating new features available and implementation of them
  • Perform continual improvement of cyber resilience across infrastructure, cloud and software services.
  • Implementation of SIEM's and security monitoring tooling, including vulnerability management tooling
  • Ability to identify and perform automation activities through PowerShell and Python scripting.
  • Implementation of Identity Management Tools such as Okta and Azure B2C
  • Implementation of Privileged Access Management systems such as Delinea
  • Design and Implementation of Essential 8 controls, including systems such as Airlock Digital
  • Manage a small portfolio of clients.
  • Drive the development of existing and new cybersecurity services, this will include working with vendors.
  • Technical documentation of high-level projects.
  • Implementation of policy and technical controls against security frameworks such as Essential 8, ISO 27001, NIST CSF, SACSF, ISM
  • You will have experience managing Windows Server environments, hybrid cloud environments, and an understanding of complex networking (SD-WAN, Next Generation Firewalls etc.)

Requirements:

  • You will need to hold appropriate relevant technical and cyber qualifications and have 4+ years' experience delivering professional IT services and have worked in the industry for 8+ years.
  • You will have experience providing senior consultancy services to various industries, working autonomously, leading and mentoring junior staff members and have accountability of billable time.
  • Knowledge and experience with a wide range of technologies including Cloud, Security and Applications.
  • Proven client management skills including both written and verbal communication.
  • Proven ability to lead and manage projects, develop proposals, work with C-level management with a high level of business acumen.
