Mount Gibson Iron Limited is an established independent Australian producer of premium quality direct shipping iron ore (DSO) with assets in the Kimberley and Mid-West regions of Western Australia.
Mount Gibson's flagship operation is the Koolan Island mine, located approximately 140km north of Derby in the Buccaneer Archipelago in the Kimberley. The mine is Australia's highest-grade producer of direct-shipping grade hematite, with an average Ore Reserve grade of 65.5% Fe.

About the role:
We are now seeking to employ an experienced Dewatering Technician at our Koolan Island Operation on a 7 Days On / 7 Days Nights / 7 Day Off (12-hour day) roster from Perth, Broome or Derby.
Reporting directly to the Mine Services Supervisor, the primary focus of this role is to maintain water levels below the active mining RL via the use of diesel driven pumps from various sumps within the pit.
Key tasks and responsibilities
- Installation, maintenance and removal of dewatering infrastructure including sumps, trenches, pipes and pumps.
- Working with large diameter pipes when installing pumping systems.
- Poly welding a various sized pipe from 200mm - 630mm.
- Installing piping systems including valves, flow meters and tie in's.
- Operation of IT loaders and excavators up to 1200.
To be successful in this role, you'll need:
- Current Manual driver's license
- HDPE Butt welding Ticket
- Dogging and Basic Riggers
- C6 (desirable)
- Chainsaw operation ticket
- Recreational Skippers Ticket
- Experience min 2 years in similar role.
- Experience in IT loader operations.
- Experience with Dixon 225, 350 and 630 machines.
- Experience with Trac Star 500.
- Experience with 40 tonne excavators.
