WHAT WE ARE LOOKING FOR

About the Team
The Audit Lead forms part of our greater Quality team and will report directly to the Change Manager.

While this role has no direct reports themselves, you will work closely with the Quality team as well as the RDA Management team and Rheinmetall's global Quality teams.

This role will be based at our Military Vehicle Centre of Excellence in Redbank.

About the Role


This is an exceptional opportunity for you to join our Quality team based on an
18 month Fixed-Term Full Time contract, located at the Military Vehicle Centre of Excellence in Redbank, QLD.


You will provide professional capability and support in developing and implementing an integrated Audit and Assurance program for Rheinmetall Defence Australia.


You will identify and communicate risks identified through the Audit program and are instrumental in driving strategies directed at the risk mitigation activities.

As the Audit Lead, you can anticipate some of your day-to-day tasks to include:

  • Develop and deliver the annual Master Audit Schedule;
  • Review and assess the audit schedule against the scope of contracts and projects;
  • Identify and manage internal auditors to assist run the audit program;
  • Ensure qualified resources are planned and available to support the audit schedule within allocated budgets, mentoring and upskilling staff where necessary;
  • Lead activities required for retention of ISO 9001 certification and support activities required to retain other certifications;
  • Review and assess the acceptance of customer and third party audit findings;
  • Improve the external and internal reporting structure;
  • Maintain current and accurate knowledge of project status, progress and issues;
  • Ensure that audit findings are documented, registered, reported and fully resolved as required by contractual requirements;
  • Conduct and lead audits of the Integrated Management System, operational safety, quality systems and other functional or operational management systems.
  • Interpret and effectively communicate audit reports as required;
  • Provide reporting as necessary to meet contractual requirements; and
  • Support improvement of the audit process and coordinate the development and integration of aligned software solutions.

The experience and skillset best suited to this role includes:

  • Experience in managing or leading integrated auditing programs;
  • Demonstrated experience working with complex integrated management systems;
  • Experience working in a defence, manufacturing or technical environment would be preferable;
  • Experience with Jira, SharePoint and SAP highly desirable;
  • Tertiary qualifications in the Engineering, Business or a technical related discipline;
  • Certified as Lead Management Systems Auditor;
  • Comprehensive understanding of ISO 9001 and NATO Allied Quality Assurance Publications;
  • Knowledge of standards including ISO 3834.2, ISO 45001, ISO 14001 and other standards;
  • Highly developed stakeholder management skills with the ability to effectively communicate with people of all organisational levels and technical ability;
  • Strong analytical skills to identify gaps and advanced interpersonal skills;
  • Advanced written communication skills; and
  • Must hold or be eligible to obtain an Australian Government Security Clearance (must hold Australian Citizenship).
